The Fun(d)Raising Team pulled off a number of wonderful gatherings that resulted in blessing the church and its ongoing programs. Last year’s February Hearts in Unity fundraiser lasagna dinner, a big favorite, made $2500; our connecting Homecoming BBQ dinner netted $365; the Dawg Daze of Summer Raffle netted a laudable $2973 (many thanks to the anonymous donor who contributed $1000 in prize money); and our fun Falloween Chili Cook-off raised $924. Other events included a fantastic spring concert with New Thought rock star Daniel Nahmod, which raised $597, and Rev. Linda Martella-Whitsett’s illuminating Prayer workshop in conjunction with Unity Center of Peace in Chapel Hill, which benefitted UCR with $1000.  The grand total of funds raised in 2024 was an impressive $8359.

Special thanks to Betty Sari and her Fun(d)Raising Team (Ken, Nancy, Pat, Elaine, Morgan, Jackie, and Melanie) for their fabulous party-planning skills, creativity, and contributions of time, talent, and treasure to make UCR events prospering–and fun–for the church. And much love and appreciation to the UCR spiritual family for volunteering at and donating to these beloved activities. Our church boasts an unusually high overall voluntarism rate–a whopping 75% of our community serves in some way. Never doubt that you are loved and appreciated. See you at our next event!
